Joining with Drs. Silvia Kurtovic and Raman Mahabir and their new Tucson Plastic Surgery Foundation, we've confirmed dates for a new photo retreat July 14-16 in Tucson, Ariz. Instead of a public photo exhibit this year—as fun and successful as it was last December—we're putting those resources toward lodging to have a full weekend retreat at Hacienda del Sol, a beautiful location in a gorgeous desert setting—more photos below!
Pink-Ribbon Boudoir—now Beyond Beautiful
Created by Jana M. Suchy out of her Way Out West Creative boudoir photography, the sponsors have rebranded the project as Beyond Beautiful, selecting 5 of their breast-reconstruction patients to celebrate transformed self-image and newfound confidence in reconstructed lives. It's a small gathering of breast-cancer survivors treated to a weekend photo retreat, building bonds of sisterhood and helping to heal emotionally from the rigors of treatment. Volunteers treat the 5 women like queens— good food, salon services, a client boudoir wardrobe of pretty things to wear and individual, private photo sessions. The generosity of Tucson Plastic Surgery provides these services and full retreat free of charge in celebration of survival and transformation.
In the weeks following the event Jana shows each survivor a curated collection of the best images for her to select favorites for her personalized custom-designed keepsake photobook to treasure always. All survivors also receive a book featuring the entire retreat including boudoir photos of all survivors to remember the full experience and new friendships.
Celebrating a survivor's beauty at any age, any stage—
to come back to beauty, back to sexy, back to fun and feeling pretty.

The December, 2022, PUBLIC PHOTO EXHIBIT was FABULOUS!
The Post Workspaces in Tucson, Arizona
We thank our "Gem" venue sponsor donating use of The Post's large and beautiful space to feature our exhibit with 50 large canvas photographs of 7 breast-cancer survivors photographed at a photo retreat in August 2022..
A big crowd came to see the photographs—and stayed to meet the survivors and enjoy the food trucks, silent auction and free pink lemonade.

I was completely caught off-guard with what I saw in the images—I see someone who is fierce and stunning, different from the way I see myself.
I'm so honored that you photographed me! So amazed that you showed me MY beauty!
When diagnosed I thought I'm never going to feel pretty again. Thank you for renewing beauty and a sense of self to all of us.
"I welcome the opportunity to feel sexy, strong and beautiful while showing our community what survivorship looks like. The best part was start to finish!"
“I love my book. I think plastic surgeons should display the photos for other patients to see. If I was newly diagnosed it would make me feel inspired to see the books.”
